Analytical Validation for Health Equity

Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) now offers an Analytical Validation Library that evaluates algorithms used to convert sensor data into digital clinical measures to track reliability across an entire population of interest.

DiMe CEO Jennifer Goldsack says, “The good news is that there is a wealth of evidence that supports the efficacy of RPM tools. The bad news is that only 9% of the high-quality studies report #demographic information, particularly race and ethnicity. This is not acceptable.”

Medical Device manufacturers can lever this as a strong differentiator by ensuring that the tools they build are truly inclusive. Moreover, Health Systems and practitioners need to do the work to verify that the tools they’re using are applicable for everyone at algorithm level.
