Samsung to Acquire Xealth, Expanding Its Digital Health Footprint

Samsung Electronics has announced its plans to acquire Xealth, a U.S.-based digital health integration platform, in a move aimed at strengthening its position in the connected care space. The deal marks a significant step in Samsung’s efforts to bring together consumer wellness tools and clinical care, with the goal of offering a more integrated healthcare experience.

Bridging Wellness and Clinical Care

The acquisition will support Samsung’s ambition to unify wellness data collected from personal devices with clinical health records traditionally stored in hospital systems. By combining Samsung’s wearable technology with Xealth’s integration capabilities, the two companies aim to streamline how health data is shared and used between patients and providers.

Currently, health information from wearables and apps often exists separately from clinical records, which can result in missed insights and care delays. The partnership is expected to help bridge this divide, enabling more personalized and preventative care.

Expanding the Connected Health Ecosystem

Xealth provides a platform that allows healthcare systems to manage and integrate a wide range of digital health solutions into clinical workflows. Its technology supports:

  • Integration of multiple digital health tools into a single interface
  • Real-time patient monitoring and engagement
  • Data orchestration and filtering to support clinical decisions

Xealth’s platform is used in over 500 hospitals across the U.S., including major systems such as Advocate Health and Banner Health. The company also partners with more than 70 digital health solution providers.

Following the acquisition, these partners will gain access to Samsung’s broader platform, enabling deeper integration across wellness and clinical domains.

Strategic Goals and Leadership Perspectives

Samsung aims to improve the health of everyone through our extensive platform combining Samsung’s innovative technologies and open collaboration with industry leaders,” said TM Roh, President and Acting Head of Samsung’s Device experience Division.

We believe the acquisition of Xealth, with its accumulated expertise and extensive healthcare network, will be an anchor to accelerate Samsung’s efforts to support health systems and digital health partners through a truly connected care.”

Mike McSherry, CEO of Xealth, also emphasized the shared mission of the two companies.

Xealth and Samsung share a common goal to advance the digital health space for truly connected care,
said McSherry.

“Customer health data from wearables can fill in context that is missing to hospitals and bring more data analysis possibilities that were not available just with clinical records. Together with Samsung and our network of healthcare leaders, we will design a bridge between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making, with provider workflow considerations and patient engagement at the core of that effort.”

Looking Ahead

Samsung has been expanding its investments in digital health through wearable sensors and connected home devices. The company views these tools as critical to enabling personalized and continuous care.

The acquisition of Xealth is intended to be a cornerstone of Samsung’s long-term vision to deliver healthcare that spans home and hospital environments. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close later in 2025.
